August 2011 Krishna updates: I’ve been so busy this summer that I haven’t updated my website in months! Krishna earned two AX legs both with first places and lovely fast times and an AXJ leg also with an incredible time. In ASCA he earned his gambler’s title. In NADAC he earned elite tunnelers, novice jumpers, novice chances and novice standard all a his usual speed of extra fast. Lana updates: Lana has been struggling in agility this summer. I’ve decided to retire her from AKC with those unfinished titles. She picked up several ASCA titles this year, regular, novice and open jumpers. She also bagged a few NADAC titles. I’ll taker her back out to try for that last chances leg, but that’s all she wrote for Lana. She’ll be living the life of leisure. May 2011 Lana Agility: At the NADAC trial Lana qualifies in open tunnelers twice; once to finish her title and again for an insurance leg. She had the second fastest time of all dogs entered both times. Go girlie go. She also qualifies in open touch-n-go. Krishna Agility: Poor boy, he Qs in excellent tunnelers, but his little sister beats his time. I hope nobody tells him. Lana Obedience: Lana earns her second leg towards her AKC CD. It was a tough day, 11 entrants, only 6 dogs in the group exercise ring and only one Q, my darling girl Lana! So proud of her! April 2011 Lana Herding: Lana qualified in her first two times out in herding trials for her PT; both at the BSCA Nationals! Wow! Now that she’s a grown up girlie she’s getting a bit wild. But she has a solid, reliable stop. Whew, thank goodness! Lana Obedience: Lana qualified in novice obedience. It was very tough coming from Alaska with two months of indoor training under her belt to an outdoor trial at the Belgian Nationals. Our run was not so pretty, but we managed to Q.
February 2011 Lana Obedience: It’s a long shameful story, but I decided to try for an ASCA CD with Lana. She’d had two weeks of formal heeling training, had done the stand for exam once and hadn’t ever done group stays. I worked for 6 days on the recall. Amazingly, Lana picked up a leg and a first place finish in the first trial, and a second leg with a second place finish in the second trial. Very few dogs qualified and I was incredibly proud of her. Lana Agility: At the AKC agility trials, Lana picked up an open standard leg with a first place finish. Next, she got three OAJ legs in consecutive order to finish her title. Go girlie GO! Two firsts and a second for my baby girl. Krishna Agility: OK, no legs at the AKC trial, but my handling is improving tremendously and Krishna and I had some fantastic runs, putting in the fastest course time not once, but twice. Darn those knocked bars!
